PhilPost Introduction

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost, also spelled PhilPost) is the government-owned and controlled corporation responsible for postal services nationwide, created under RA 7354 (Postal Service Act of 1992). Its most-used consumer service is the issuance of the Improved Postal ID — a security-enhanced government-recognized ID card accepted by banks, embassies, and most agencies. PHLPost simplified the application requirements through Circular No. 25-48 (March 2025).

Scope of this guide: This page focuses on the Postal ID — PhilPost's most-used consumer service. For mail, parcels, money order, and tracking, see phlpost.gov.ph. If you need a primary government ID and don't have one yet, the PhilSys / Philippine National ID (issued by PSA) is free and is now the foundational government ID; the Postal ID remains a useful alternative or supplement.
