Due date: April 30, 2026

Paid on: July 15, 2026 (2.5 months late)

Additional consequences:

  • Cannot apply for SSS loans until contributions are updated
  • Cannot claim some benefits until penalties are paid
  • Lower benefit computation if contributions are incomplete

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I pay for multiple months at once?

Yes! You can pay for several months or even a full year in advance. This is convenient if you want to stay updated without monthly payments. Just indicate all the months you're paying for.

What if I'm unemployed? Do I still need to pay?

If you're not working, you're not required to pay contributions. However, it's highly recommended to continue as a voluntary member (even at minimum ₱135/month) to keep your coverage active and avoid gaps.

Can I change my MSC level?

Yes, for self-employed and voluntary members, you can adjust your MSC level (within the ₱1,000-₱30,000 range) when paying. Higher MSC = higher contributions BUT also higher benefits when you claim.

How do I know if my payment was received?

Check your payment status by: (1) Logging into My.SSS and viewing your payment history, (2) Checking your Statement of Account, or (3) Calling SSS hotline with your Payment Reference Number.

What's the easiest way to pay?

My.SSS online payment is the most convenient - pay anytime via GCash, credit card, or online banking. Instant posting, no queues, and you get digital receipt immediately.

Can I still pay if I missed several months?

Yes, you can pay all unpaid contributions anytime. However, penalties will be charged for late payment (3% per month). It's best to settle as soon as possible to avoid higher penalties.

Do OFWs need to pay contributions?

OFWs are not required but highly encouraged to continue paying as voluntary members. This ensures continuous coverage and eligibility for benefits even while abroad. Payment can be done online via My.SSS.

Is there a penalty if my employer doesn't remit my contribution?

The penalty is on the employer, not on you. However, your coverage may be affected. Report non-remitting employers to SSS. You can verify your contributions through My.SSS portal.
